Shipping policy
At Lace Canopy Exotics, we take pride in delivering healthy, lively feeders safely to your doorstep. Please read the details below to ensure a smooth delivery.
1. Shipping Days
- Orders ship Monday and Tuesday mornings to avoid weekend delays.
- Orders placed Monday: Ship same day or early Tuesday (before 8:30 AM).
- Orders placed Tuesday–Sunday: Ship the following Monday.
2. Shipping Methods
USPS Priority Mail (Standard Shipping)
- Our standard service is USPS Priority Mail.
- Delivery may take longer than 2–3 days; times are not guaranteed.
- Delays may occur beyond our control.
- I DO NOT recommend USPS for Silkworms or Hornworms. Dubia Roaches and BSFL are hardier and can handle longer times in packaging and weather.
USPS Priority Mail Express
- Overnight to 2-day delivery by 6 PM.
- Recommended for sensitive live feeders.
UPS 2nd Day or 3-Day Air
- Often faster and more reliable than USPS.
- Shipped directly to your home address.
- Overnight/Next Day shipping qualifies for our Live Arrival Guarantee.
3. Tracking
- A tracking number is emailed on the shipping day (Monday or Tuesday).
- Didn’t receive tracking? Check your spam/junk folder or email us.
4. Important: Be Home for Delivery
- Someone should be home to bring live insects inside immediately.
- Packages left in mailboxes, on porches, or in the sun may overheat or freeze, voiding any guarantee.
- For guaranteed live arrival, use Hold for Pickup at the post office or Express/Overnight shipping.
5. Live Arrival Guarantee
- Guarantee applies only if:
- “Hold for Pickup” is selected at checkout or
- Express, Overnight, or Next-Day shipping is chosen.
-
Report DOA insects:
- Hold for Pickup: within 6 hours of delivery to post office
- Express/Next Day: within 1 hour of delivery to your home
- Include order name and photo/video evidence for replacements.
6. Temperature & Environmental Notes
- Extreme temperatures (below 32°F or above 95°F) may harm live feeders.
- We recommend Ship-Safe Phase Packs and Container Lifts to improve survival during transit.
- Cold or hot weather shipments are “Ship at Your Own Risk”.
7. Shipping Delays
- Delays may occur due to holidays, vacations, or unforeseen events.
- Updates will be posted on our website, social media, and via email when possible.
